We are a long established company with historical links to the early development of sprayed concrete back in the 1970’s.
Today the company is proud to be a leading sprayed concrete contractor and our services now span across specialist concrete services, including concrete repair and specialist concrete plant hire and sales.

Skills, training and development
We have some of our industry’s most experienced and qualified sprayed concrete nozzlemen and plant operators, many have gained their training and qualification during their employment with the company.
Our student work placement programme is run working with local colleges providing learning opportunities for young people. We continuously bring new talent into the company as well as providing upskilling and progression to staff. Our apprenticeships have supported staff in achieving formal qualifications in accounting, business administration, quantity surveying and construction plant maintenance.
Awards and accreditations
Shotcrete won the Structural Concrete Alliance annual award over two consecutive years, in 2024 for Machynlleth Railway Bridge, Wales and in 2023 for the innovative development of Ecoshot, this innovation project also won another award in 2023 from the Institute of Civil Engineers.
Other industry awards over past years include the Concrete Society Overall Merit Award in 2004 for the Selfridges Building in Birmingham and again in 2009 for the Darwin Cocoon, housed within the Natural History Museum extension. In 2015, we were awarded with a “Highly Commended” award from the Concrete Society for the Stage-By-The-Sea in Littlehampton.

Our management systems are certified to ISO9001, ISO45001 and ISO 14001. We also hold accreditation for FORS Silver, RISQS, Achilles and Constructionline Platinum.
Sustainability
The company recognises the urgency of the climate change agenda, and we champion the role we have to play in decarbonising the economy for a greener, more sustainable future.
Our focus has been on reducing carbon through the development of low carbon sprayed concrete. We have collaborated with stakeholders, consultants, material suppliers and Loughborough University on a research and development projects aiming to significantly reduce the carbon impact of sprayed concrete. Our inhouse R&D centre enables us to facilitate ongoing material and equipment R&D trials utilising our onsite concrete batching plant, specialist plant & equipment and expert trained operators & technicians.
We identify, manage and mitigate our environmental impacts from project to business level through our ISO 14001 certified management system, supported our Health, Safety, Wellbeing and Sustainability (HS&S) advisors.
